Set the password for the ‘root’ user

root – Administrator

- is the name of the Administrator, super user

- you cannot change the name

- Set the strong password

- Never share a password

Login as root

Type - ip a

Get the NIC adapter information as shown

Adapter 1 – enp0s3

Adapter 2 – enp0s8

Adapter 2 – enp0s9

cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/

ls

Edit the NIC configuration files

Ifcfg-enp0s3

Ifcfg-enp0s8

Ifcfg-enp0s9

vi ifcfg-enp0s3

Push ‘I’ on keyboard to go into edit mode

Go to line ONBOOT and change it to ‘yes’ as shown in pic

To save and exit

- esc

- shift + :

- x

this combination will save the file and exit

Now reboot the server

- init 6

Now the IP Address is visible

init 0

Clone is complete
